WABL Championship Men into the Grand Final

Our WABL Championship Men are through to the Grand Final this Sunday. Hoping to follow the WABL Championship Womens footsteps and make it a Hawks double, Coach Trent Criddle shared his thoughts.

“After several years since my last involvement with the WABL Championship Division, claiming the championship in 2017, I’m thrilled to be part of the Perry Lakes Hawks Men’s program again. The Hawks have a storied history, and it’s an honor to contribute to our ongoing success. This season, our team comprises mainly first-time D-League and NBL1 players, alongside a few seasoned veterans. Together, we’ve consistently showcased the true essence of Hawks Basketball week in and week out. The players’ commitment to the program has been instrumental in our success.

With an entirely new philosophy and coaching group this year, I want to extend my gratitude to the entire team for fully embracing the program. Their dedication, commitment, and team-first mindset have truly paid off.

A special thank you to Matt Hughes, our first-year Hawks coach, who has been an outstanding assistant, stepping up whenever I was unavailable. Additionally, I am deeply grateful to Tracey McGillvray and Ted Bucknell for their unwavering support throughout the season. Your assistance has been invaluable, allowing us to focus on the players and the games ahead.

This week’s grand final against the Willetton Tigers promises to be a physical and competitive match. Both teams are determined, and I can’t wait to see how our Hawks rise to the occasion and claim the Championship!”

Get down to Bendat Sunday 1pm on Court 1 and support your Hawks as they take on the Willetton Tigers.
