Amy Jacobs to bring Energy and Hustle to the Hawks

The Hawks NBL1 West Women had a fantastic 2024 season with a relatively young team reaching the semi-finals going down in a tough battle to Grand Final runners-up Cockburn. In the off- season they added another young player to the roster, a player with a wealth of experience who is turning out to be a great fit for the Hawks, Amy Jacobs.

Amy has an impressive basketball resume, she committed to a Division 1 college – Lasalle University and was able to play college basketball with both her sisters, twin Claire and younger sister Mia. In 2024 Amy was a development player with the Lynx and was also the NBL1 6th women of the year in 2023. Amy played her junior basketball at Lakeside before spending last year with the Tigers.

Amy is really looking forward to playing for Craig Mansfield and the Hawks. ”  I love the way Craig coaches  and I am looking forward to being surrounded by a really supportive team and I feel so welcome already. I love the Hawks style of play, aggressive on defence and lots of movement free flowing offence. Craig also coached me before I went to college and is a big reason as to why I  have had the opportunities I have.  Love the team, the girls work hard and have made it so easy for me to adjust. Lovely lovely lovely is all I have to say”.

Coach Mansfield has reciprocal praise for his newest addition. “I’ve known Amy since she was a junior player and she has always been an excellent athlete and exciting player.  She is an elite level passer and versatile defender and is a great addition to our program and will help our team reach its goals for the 2025 season.  We were very excited when Amy chose to join Hawks and we are excited to work with her towards her future basketball goals”.

Amy is looking to  bring a lot of energy, hustle and talk  to the team. “I feel like I’m a glue player so whatever  the team needs from me I’m ready”, she said. Her goal is to win a NBL1 West Championship and to have the opportunity to play at the RAC Arena.

We look forward to seeing Amy on court and welcome her to the Hawks Family.
