Hawks Re-Appoint NBL1 West Head Coaches for 2023
Perry Lakes Hawks have re-appointed Craig Mansfield and Matt Parsons as their head coaches for the NBL1 West 2023 season.
This will be Coach Parson’s 7th season in this role and Coach Mansfield will enter his second year at the helm.
Club President Peter Barrow said of the re-appointments:
“We are very pleased to welcome Craig and Matt back for the NBL-1 West 2023 season. 2022 saw the development of a number of Hawks juniors as NBL1 players in our programs and we are looking forward to their continued development and further success in 2023.”The re-appointments were announced at the Hawks NBL1 West Season awards night on Wednesday.
Craig Mansfield said of his re-appointment:
“I am so grateful for the support of Hawks and to be returning for 2023. I have enjoyed my first season so much and can’t speak highly enough of my experience so far, the club’s values and all the people I have got to know including the administration, board, volunteers, supporters and the playing group I have had the privilege to coach.
This past season was a reinvention of our identity as a team and how we wanted to play on both ends of the floor really started to show through over the last six weeks of the season. I am excited to see how this growth continues over the off-season and into next year, we have a committed group of Hawks people and I think we can be highly competitive and successful next season. “
Matt Parsons thoughts on going into his 7th year at the Hawks:
“I am extremely excited to have committed to a 7th season with the Perry Lakes Hawks.
The Hawks are a big part of my family, my kids have grown up within the halls of the Bendat Basketball Centre, and as a family, we created so many great relationships with so many of the extended Hawks Community around us.
Our playing group is a fun, hardworking bunch, who are so focused and committed to creating a competitive environment for each other, to get better each day.
I am looking forward to again wearing blue and turning a tough 2022 into deep playoff run in 2023. “
